Volnoe Delo Foundation to donate over 3000 computers to Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren
25 March 2011
Before the school year begins, schoolchildren in Krasnoyarsk will receive 3135 computers. This program was started – and is funded – by Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation. The “Computers for Students” program has been long active in Krasnoyarsk Krai and is finally making its way to schools in Krasnoyarsk itself.
60 schools in the Central and Sovetskiy districts in Krasnoyarsk have already received 2 195 netbooks. And by the start of the school year an additional 940 will be donated. This will mean that, come the new school year, every first grader in schools participating in the program will be given the opportunity to study his or her major subjects with the help of their very own personal computer from the Volnoe Delo Foundation.
All of the computers for both students and teachers are provided with modern licensed software and the most cutting edge educational programs for the study of Russian language, mathematics, nature study and other subjects. The Volnoe Delo Foundation has conducted the training of a group of Krasnoyarsk teachers, who will now share their expertise in new teaching techniques and program operation with other teachers.
