Two entries presented by Moscow State University Physics Department employees and graduates were awarded the World Intellectual Property Organization GRAN PRIX at the 26th annual Invention & New Product Exposition (INPEX-2011, held June 14-17 2011 in Pittsburg, USA). The projects were presented thanks to financial support from Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation.

On July 7th 2011 the Seliger-2011 youth educational forum hosted the RoboCross robot vehicle competition, organized by Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation and GAZ Group. The event saw automated vehicles built on the basis of GAZelle-BUSINESS vans – provided by GAZ Group to robotics teams in 2010 - compete against one another in various competitions.

Oleg Deripaska discussed the latest happenings at the excavation and the ongoing archeological center construction with the archeologists at Phanagoria.

As of now Achinsk has joined the list of cities that are participating in the “Computers for Schools” programme,  which is being carried out the largest private charity organization in the country – Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation.

1380 student laptops were given to elementary school children in 6 municipal schools in Pavlov, Nizhny Novgorod region as part of the “Computers for Schools” Programme realized by Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation, in partnership with the administration of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Pavlov municipal district and GAZ Group.

On September 1st the Department of History, Sociology and International Affairs of Kuban State University will begin the instruction of a group of 10 students majoring in “Archeology”.  Until now, Russian archeologists were only trained in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk.

The alumni of the National Inva-Academy of Arts and Social Rehabilitation presented the head of the Mariinsky Theater symphony orchestra Valery Gergiev with an icon.
