The alumni of the National Inva-Academy of Arts and Social Rehabilitation presented the head of the Mariinsky Theater symphony orchestra Valery Gergiev with an icon.

The 10th Moscow Easter Festival was held in Moscow from Aprtil 24th to May 9th. The head of the Krasnodar-based Inva-Studio N.N. Galkin, as well as the alumni of the Moscow branch of the National Inva-Academy of Arts and Social Rehabilitation took part in the official closing ceremony of the Festival, which was held on May 9th at the Moscow International Performing Arts Center. During the festive events the children presented Valery Gergiev with a large icon depicting Saint George – a skilled work created by the graduates of Inva-Studio.

Inva-Studio was created in Krasnodar in 1993. The organization strives to facilitate the social adaptation of disabled children and implements a number of unique, progressive methods. Icon painting and artistic endeavor in general play a central role in the rehabilitation work with children.

Since 1994 Inva-Studio has been a partner of Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation. During this time the studio has helped thousands of children - many of them receiving practical skills, or even professions that will allow them to be self-sufficient and enroll into institutions of higher education and study to work with children themselves. The studio is currently working with over 600 children with various developmental disabilities.
