RoboCross was held in Nizhniy Novgorod

On July 17-20 “Volnoe Delo” Oleg Deripaska Foundation and GAZ Group held competition of automated vehicles Robocross-2013 in Nizhny Novgorod. The winner was “Aurora” team from Ryazan State Radio Engineering University. They will represent Russia at the European Land-Robot Trial that will be held in autumn.
It is the forth time when the tests of the cars Robocross-2013 took place within the program Robotics: engineering and technical personnel of innovative Russia implemented by “Volnoe Delo” Oleg Deripaska Foundation in partnership with GAZ Group and the Federal Agency on youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). The competitions were held on 17 to 20 July in the city of Nizhniy Novgorod. Robocross was attended by nine student teams from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Kovrov, Saratov and Ufa. Most of RoboCross participants drove Gazel cars, donated by the Gorky automobile plant GAZ Group. There was also a young team that drove vehicles created on the basis of GAZ cars as well as ATVs.
Professional engineers-designers of GAZ and URAL enterprises were among the judges of the competition. For young robotics there was also a test-drove of Gazelle Next, special meetings with top-managers of GAZ group and an excursion to the Museum of GAZ history.
