Nauka 0+ science festival closes in Krasnoyarsk

Volnoe Delo Oleg Deripaska foundation was a general partner of the 5th All-Russia science festival Nauka 0+ that took place in Krasnoyarsk on October 2-4.
The festival’s venues included several locations across the city. An exhibition business center Siberia became the festival’s main venue where over 70 universities, enterprises, research institutes and other organizations presented their projects.
400 events including lectures, excursions to universities and factories took place during the festival. The festival’s venues in Krasnoyarsk attracted over 65,000 visitors that was half as much again as the organizers expected.
UC Rusal launched an all-Russia competition “The 13th element. ALchemy of the future” as a part of the festival. The competition’s organizers expect to attract up to 5,000 schoolchildren of 5-11th grades keen on mathematics, physics, chemistry and metallurgy. A marathon including creative challenges, quizzes about metallurgy and materials science as well as intellectual games will be held from October 2015 to March 2016. Schoolchildren will also have an opportunity to visit research laboratories and have tours of the company’s factories.
