The 10^th science festival NAUKA 0+ was held in Moscow on October 9-11. Volnoe Delo Oleg Deripaska Foundation was a general partner of the event.

The festival’s venues included over 100 locations across Moscow. Shuvalov building of the Moscow State University, the university’s Fundamental library as well as Expocentre at Krasnaya Presnya were the festival’s main venues.

The major exhibition of the science festival at Expocentre was divided into thematic clusters that comprised chemistry, physics, mathematics and robotics. The area also included information desks, dining and recreational zones.

Volnoe Delo’s stand set up in Expocentre was devoted to the foundation’s key program Robotics. Engineering personnel of innovative Russia and featured numerous activities that attracted hundreds of visitors who participated in robotics masterclasses, learnt how to program Lego robots and played noughts and crosses with a robot.

A huge tablet computer also attracted the visitors’ interest. It offered them an opportunity to get acquainted with a book named 100 Russian engineers who changed our lives published by Basic Element group in 2013. The book proved to be popular not only among children but also among their parents who curiously studied the stories of the most prominent Russian inventors.

Over 100 universities and other educational institutions took part in the festival along with 15 museums, 10 institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Centre for Haematology, more than 20 Moscow-basedhigh-tech companies as well as industrial parks. Over 830,000 visitors attended the festival’s locations within three days.

The first Russian science festival was held in the Moscow State University in 2006. In 2007, it became an annual city event with a financial and administrative support of the Moscow government . The festival received a nationwide status in 2011.
