The team of the Don State Technical University was among six best teams that took part in the Asia-Pacific robotics competitions ABU Robocon in Vietnam.

It was the second time when Rostov robotics team of DSTU-Robotics participated in Asia-Pacific robotics competitions ABU Robocon. They won national final of qualifying competitions held on 25 May and got the right to represent Russia in ABU Robocon. In 2011 Russian team participated in MobRob organized by Saratov State Technical University.

Rostov team who took part in the Asia-Pacific robotics competitions, consisted of five members and three teachers. The theme of this year competitions concerned ecological matters and was named “the Green Planet.

Japanese team became the winner of ABU Robocon-2013 and that was the first time won the gold medal after a seven year break. The competition was attended by 18 teams, robotics from the Asia-Pacific region.
