The Kuban cossack choir
Since 2003 the Foundation has supported the Kuban Cossack Choir with studio work and organisation of performances. The leading artists of the choir receive a scholarship each year. Since 2008, the 20 best students of the School of Arts of the Kuban Cossack Choir are also awarded scholarships.
With the support of the Foundation The State Academic Kuban Cossack Choir performed concerts in 30 countries, regularly tours in Italy, France, South Africa, Israel, Montenegro, Serbia, as well as sold-out concerts at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow and the October Grand Concert Hall in St. Petersburg.
Specially prepared movies "Portrait against Hora" and "Enjoy, brothers, enjoy! - 200 years later" were released on the eve of the anniversary concerts with the support of the Fund.
The Kuban Cossack Choir is the oldest and largest national group of Russian Cossack’s, Russia's only professional group of folk artists, which has a continuous history from the beginning of the 19th century. The repertoire of the choir includes Kuban Cossack, Russian and Ukrainian folk songs and songs based on poems by Russian and Ukrainian poets in arrangements by artistic director Victor Zakharchenko. In 1988, the choir was awarded the Order of Peoples’ Friendship, and in 1993 was awarded the "academic" title. In 2008, the Kuban Cossack Choir was awarded the "Ovation" Russian National Prize in music for the year 2007.
The Kuban Cossack Choir not only gives concerts, but also does a great scientific and educational job, records and arranges the Cossack songs, and preserves and promotes the traditional culture of the Cossacks.
