The All-Russian annual contest "The Headmaster"
The Foundation has been a partner of the "The School" magazine contest since 2010. The competition is held among headmasters of various secondary schools from small rural schools, private schools to large regional education centres. Over three years, more than 1,500 principals from 81 regions of Russia have participated in the contest.
The contest is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Higher School of Economics and the Russian Academy of Education.
"It does not happen every day that a man analyzes his work so fundamentally and "globally". The competition helps to draw definite conclusions, understand if I went wrong, what mistakes were made, and what I need to do to avoid blunders in the future."
The contestants compete in two stages. Under the terms of the competition, headmasters submit an account of their achievements in school management to the organizing committee. Well-known experts in the educational sphere and colleagues of participants – principals, past years' finalists – evaluate these submissions. Experts select 30 finalists who come to the final in Moscow. During the opening ceremony, the 10 winners will be determined. The winners will receive cash prizes, as well as foreign training.
